March 2020

In 2016, Brian Hill, an expert in automotive restoration, received a call from Ed Kelley. Kelley was in the process of restoring his 1968 Maserati Ghibli and was looking for someone to help him add the finishing touches to the car. After being connected through a mutual contact, Hill and Kelley began what would become a 4-year journey of restoration.

The process of restoring Kelley’s Ghibli was not an easy one. It required a lot of hard work, dedication, and attention to detail. But with Hill’s expertise and Kelley’s passion for the car, they were able to make incredible progress. And their hard work eventually paid off when the car was accepted to participate in the prestigious Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance car show in Florida.

Being accepted into the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance is no small feat. This exclusive event is by invitation only, and the selection committee takes into consideration several factors when deciding which cars will be accepted. But Kelley’s Ghibli was deemed worthy of participation, and Hill and his team knew that they had to elevate their work to a whole new level.

They worked tirelessly, often staying up late into the night to ensure that every detail was perfect. And all of their hard work and sacrifice paid off when the car won an Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance award on March 8, 2020. This was a momentous achievement for Kelley, Hill, and the entire team who had worked on the restoration.

Today, Kelley’s Ghibli is considered one of the finest examples of automotive restoration in the world. And it serves as a testament to the incredible skill, dedication, and passion of Brian Hill at Ultra Threads. If you’re looking for someone to help you restore a classic car to its former glory, there’s no one better than Ultra Threads.
